Donald Zolan was born and raised in Brookfield, Illinois. Beginning at the age of ten, Zolan won many scholarships for painting. Throughout high school he attended the Art Institute of Chicago in the summer. After graduating, Zolan went to college at the American Academy of Art in Chicago on a full scholarship. When he completed college Zolan began building his career in leading galleries worldwide and in the collectibles industry. He is well known for his portrait work and for his beautiful paintings of children.
