The Adoration of the Magi Card

Jean (the Younger) Restout was born in Rouden and died in Paris. Restout, a pupil of his uncle Jouvenet, was a French history painter who had a very successful academy career. Much in demand, he painted altar pieces for many Parisian churches in a style formed on Jouvenet and Le Sueur.
