Madonna Sistina Card

Raphael was the son of Giovanni Santi and Magia di Battista Ciarla; his mother died in 1491. Raphael's father was a painter and gave Raphael his first instruction and guidance before his death in 1494. The "Madonna Sistina" was painted for Pope Julius II as a present to the city of Piazenza.
